NOTES AND MEMORANDA.
A meeting of the BuiHing Trades' Picnic Committee will be held to-mor-row, at 8 p.m., at the Trades' Hall. An election of a member of the Heathcote Road Bcar<L for the Bromley ■ward, in place of Mr John Read, who has resigned, will take place on Wednesday, January 12th. Nominations must be sent into the clerk of the Board not later than noon on January 6th. An excursion will be run to Akaroa on Boxing Day by the Union Steam Ship Company's steamer Tarawera, leaving on arrival of the, 7.55 a.m. tiain from Christchurch. The Canterbury Acclimatisation Society notifies that half-ceason licenses are available from date of issue until the 30th April, 1910, and are now obtainable from licensed tackle dealers, or at the office of the (society. The half-season licenses are only available ■within the district where they are issued, the license fee in respect to these being 12s 6d'. The Church of England portion of the new Papanui Cemetery will be consecrated to-day, at 4.30 p.m.
