The clause was retained by 15 votes to 12. and the Bill was reported and passed. PUBLIC WORKS BILL. The Public Works Act Amendment Ci.'l was committed. Clause 8 -was struck out on the voices, fie ATTORNEY-GENERAL agreeing with those members who held that the effect of tho clause as it passed the House would have been to have prevented tho sale of any land fronting a raul of less than 66 feet in width. THE PRIVILEGES QUESTION. . The Council agreed not to insist on its amendments in the Land for Settlements Administration Bill, and the State Guaranteed Advances Bill as it did not wish to endanger these measures at this lato stage of the session, bat it ■denied that it had infringed the privileges of the House.
