The New York Post Office, excluding Brooklyn, has issued European njonev orders aggregating £1,540,000, representing Christmas gifts to European relatives. The increase is £459,000 over the figures of 1908, ami it is estimated that £12,000,000 worth of foreign money orders in connection with Christmas j;ifte have been issued throughout the United States. Bonuses given to the staffs of financial houses also indicate tho present prosperity.
