GERALDINE.
At the last meeting of the Geraldine Read Board the Valuation Christchurch, wrote that they wore referring the matter of the subdivision of the Raukaouka estate to the District Valuer, who would visit Geraldine shortly. Messrs iSmithson, Raymond, em! BarKlic, solicitors, notified the Board* th«t they held the view that the re-valuation made of tho various Raukapuka properties was ultra vires, c.nd •they paid the rotes on behalf of a client under protect. The Mayor (Mr F. R. Flatman) and Councillor Taylor waited on the Board in referonce to the proposed new bridge over the TVaihi river. Mr Flat men etated tho Borough Council were net prepared to siive more than the. £40 already promised, but Mr Taylor had offered to make vp the balance of half the cost. The Bcerd agreed to the proposal, and: the work will be put in hand at once.
