A good slip. _ E. E. Crawshaw (St. Alba-ns).—One of the best all-round players in Christchuich, and certainly the best of the voimger generation. Has very solid defence, and is improving in his rungetting abilties every day. Iβ a good f.va bowler and fields well anywhere. l>. B. Wood (St. Albans).—A sound and punishing bat, who when well set makes the best bowling look simple. Has a magnificent off-drive, and also a variety of other good strokes, though his defence is iiot of the soundest. A brilliant and tireless field. S. A. Orchard (LLnwood).—A punishing left hand batsman of the ''hit hard and often" order, but with only fair defence. Invariably comes to light on big occasions. Has improved greatly as a slow big break bowler, and is ac likely as anyone to break up a big partnership. A good field. W Carlton (East Christchurch).— Canterbury's coach. Is a capital bat with very strong defence and a capital variety of strokes. A slow change bcwler, and a good field. A. Sims (East Christchurch).—One of our most reliable run-getters.
