BACK AFTER CHRISTMAS.

TO BE OR NOT TO BE?

(special to ' ; the press."') WELLINGTON, December 19. Judging by the slow progress made with the business since Sir Joseph Ward made his statement to the House on Thursday last, and the remarks made by both Mr Massey and Si; - Joseph Ward as the House was rising last night, there is now little prospects of the session being concluded before Christmas. If, as will probably happen, it is found impossible to finish before Christmas, a short aujournment may be made till after Boxing Day, with the object of finishing before the new year. Another suggestion is an adjournment till about tne oth of January. The events of the next two or three days will decide the course to be taken.
