On return journey trains leave Staircase at 5.20 rt.m. and 5.35 p.m., arriving Christchurch 8.5 and 8.45 p.m. respectively. The 5.20 p.m. Soecial stops only ut Otarama and Spiingfield." Christchurch arrive 7.55 p.m. The 9.15 a.m. Special will stoo where required to pick up passengers for Little River Branch; the return train will stop where required on tho Little River Branch to nick tip passengers, and between Lircoln and Christchurch to set down passei gers. OTHER EXTRA TRAINS.—A train, stopping where required, leaves Rolleston for Christchurch at 5.57 p.m., and arrives Christchurch 6.50 -a.m. „„ ALTERED" ORDINARY TRAINS, SOUTH LINE AND BRANCHES—Tho afternoon train from Ashburton to Christchurch will start at 5.5 p.m., and arrive Christchurch 8.35 p.m. The evening train for Ashburton and Methvcn leaves Christchurch at 5.40 p.m., Ashburton arrive 8.50 p.m., and Mothvn 9.30 p.m. The evening train for Springfield and Whitecliffs Branch leaves Christchurch at 5.55 p.m.. arriving Springfield 8.45 p.m., and Whiteoliffs 8.47 p.m. The afternooon train from Whitecliffs starts at GO p.m., and arrives at Darfield G. 57 p.m., connecting with the 5.35 p.m. Special from Staircase to Christchurch. ON CHRISTMAS DAY, SATURDAY, 25th December. 1909, the whole of the Trains in the Canterbury District will be SUSPENDED with the following exceptions: — CHRISTCHURCH' DISTRICT. Expresses—The Express trains between Christchurch and Invercargill, and the Mail trains between Christchurch and Dunedin. Lyttelton Line—Trains will leave Christchurch for Lyttelton at 6.30 a.m.. 9.55 a.m., 10.55 p.m., 2.45 p.m., 4.0 p.m., 5.25 p.m., 5.30 p.m*. 6-13 p.m., 7.40 p.m., 7.50 p.m. nnd 9.15 p.m. The 5.25 p.m. nnd 7.40 p.m. trains will not STOP at intermediate stations.
