THE TALISMAN MINE.

A rather sharp decline has taken place in tha price of Talisman shares during the past week, but it seems to be merely a market movement. A telegTam received from the manager of the mine yesterday states that there is nothing wrong at the mine.

THAMES DEEP LEVELS. (press association telegram.) AUCKLAND, December 3. The negotiations in connection with the Thames deep levels scheme are at present hung up. The May Queen Company, in pursuance of a letter from the Minister for Mines, dated Jxily 7th, 1907, has sent in a claim for £1180 m connection with the unwatering , and deepening of the Queen of Beauty shaft, from, which the croea-cut is to be driven. The other five companies concerned have offered £1000 in full settlement, but the May Queen Company hes declined this, end suggests that the companies ehoulci apply to the warden for easement -under the letter referred to.
