OBITUARY.

(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAMS.) DUNEDIN, December 3. At the Magistrate's Court this morning Mary Parker, on a charge of selling liquor without having a license, was fined £50. The Magistrate said that it was a very bad case. WELLINGTON, December 3. Two men were convicted to-day of ely grog-selling in the city. Alexander Lindsay, a first offender, was fined £10, or one month's imprisonment, and Alexander McLeod was sentenced to six weeke' (imprisonment without the option of a fine, as he had been previously convicted.

THAMES, December 3. The death is reported of Heta Rewiti (David Stewart), aged 40 years. Deceased was a member of the Maori football team which toured Great Britain, and the owner of a considerable area of native land. Hβ was well-known in sporting circles as tihe owner of several racehorses.
