SHIPPING NOTES.
The Kniapoi Shipping and Trading Company's steamer Kairaki arrived yesterday afternoon from Puponga with, a full load of coal. After discharging tho vcsce! will load for West Cjast ports, and will sail to-night for Westport and Greymouth. The Kini is due here this morning with a loud of coal from Westport. Tlie Kaiapoi, from Westport via Wellington, will arrive her? to-morrow morning with « part cnrr.o of coal. The Koonya was to leave Timaru for Lyttelton shortly after midnight last night. She will le»ve here this evening for Wellington, New Plymouth, Westport, and Greymonth. Tluj New Zealand Shipping Company's new twin-screw steamer Ruahine, 10,809 tons, left Plymouth 1-ost Saturday for Capetown. Hobart. Wellington, and Lvttelton. Captain H. E. Greenstreet. late of the Rimutaka, ia in command of the Ruahine. which ia due at Wellington on January 11th, and at Lyttelton about January 18th. Mr S. S. George, purser of the Monowai, joined the Warrimoo yesterday. Captain B. M. A'dwell and the officers of the Takapuna have transferred to the Pateena, which is running between Wellington, Picton, and Nelson. The departure of the Shaw, Savill and Albion Line steamer lonic, from. Wellington for London, via Monte Video, Tenerifte, and Plymouth, has been postponed until daylight to-morrow mcrning. Wakatu, s.s. (8.40 p.m.), 157 tons, J. Wills, for Kaikoura and Wellington. Kinsey and Co., agents.
