RIFLE SHOOTING.
The Kaiapoi Rifles on Saturday fired for Messrs R. Moore and J. O'Connor'- prires, »t 300, 500 *nd 600 yards, seven shots at each distance. The highest score, were:—Private W. Wright (hep. 11), 32, 32, 25—100; Corporal Richards (ter), 34, 30, 34—98; Lance-Corporal Yellowlees (6), 32, 29, 80-97; Lieutenant J. L. Conlan (12), 32, 29, 23—96; Private Bryden (acr), 32, 33, 29—94; Private Templeton (11), 26, 26, 20—93; Private Toflkin (10), 33, 2i, 25—92; Lance-Corporal Mills (acr), 30, 34, 27—91; Private J. Wylie (13), 26, 25, 28—91. The Scargili Rifle Club met on Saturday afternoon for practice at 200. 500 and 600 yards, and some good shooting' was done, notably by A. Comexon, president, who secured the coveted three figuree, thereby winning the club medal for the highest score. His score reads:—2ooyd*, 5546445; 500 yd». 5553555; 600 yds-, 6555655; total, 100.
