AFTERNOON SITTING. The Council met at 2.30 p.m. FINAL STAGES. The t Wanganui Roman Catholic Land Bill and Roman Catholic Empowering Bill, and the Tokomaru Freezing Site Bill were put through their final stages. HOSPITALS AND CHARITABLE , - INSTITUTIONS. The Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Bill was considered in Committee. At Clause 8, fixing the number of members of a Board at not less than eight or more than twenty, "exclusive of any members appointed by the Government in pursuance of Section 22 of this Act," the ATTORNEY-GENERAL moved to strike out all the words after "exclusive." This was agreed to. An addition was made to the clause debarring a paid officer under any contributory local authority within an hosgital district from being elected to the card. The Council adjourned until 7.30 p.m.
