(Before Mr W. R. Haselden, S.M.) DRUNKENNESS.

One first offender for drunkenness was convicted and discharged, and another first offender, who was found drunk while in charge of a motor-car was fined 10s and costs and ordered to pay los expenses. Margaret Dingleday was convicted and discharged tor insobriety and fined 20s and costs tor procuring liquor during the currency of a prohibition order. VAGRANCY. Minnie Brown (Mr Taylor) was charged with soliciting in Moorhonse avenue on Monday night, and being an idle and disorderly person. The Magistrate imposed a sentence of three months imprisonment. PROCURING LIQUOR. Edward Francis Johnston was charged with being a rogue and vagabond in that ho was found by night without lawful excuse on the enclosed premises ot Robert Moffatt. He was also charged with procuring liquor during the currency of a prohibition order. ihe Magistrate convicted and discharged him on the first charge and imposed a fine of 20s and costs on the second.

OBSCENE LANGUAGE. Edward Harvey (Mr Taylor) was fintd 20& and costs for using obscene language in Gloucester street on Monday niilht. MAINTENANCE. Jas. Duncan (Mr Cassidy) was charged with failing to provide maintenance for his step-daughter, an inmate of the Institute of the Blind in Auckland. Arthur John Parson (Mr Salter) was sentenced to two months imprisonment for disobedience of a maintenance order for the support of hie wife, but the warrant was ordered to he suspended as long as he paid 12s <xl a week ott the arrears. Mr Wilding appeared fi-r complainant. Geo. Earnshaw (Mr Hunt) was charged with failing to support his wife. The evidence showed that the complainant had left him, and refused to live with him. The Magistrate, therefore, declined to make an order. Mr Leathern appeared for complainant. Phillip George Meeservy (Mr Hunt) applied for the variation of a maintenance order, but this was refused.
