A SCHOONER BEACHED AT GISBOPNE.
(press association telegram.) GISBORNE, July 10. A. very heavy gale prevailed along the Eost Coast last night. The auxiliary schooner Kaeo, which left Gisborno for Auckland on Sunday was at Tokomnru Bay, and weathered the storm all night, but this morning, being in a dangerous position and unable to wori out of the roadstead, Captain Skinner, b/ very skilful - seamanship, beached the vesiiel in a good position near a. email wharf. The crew were supplied with lifebelts, and but for tho fine handling of the vessel a disaster might have occurred. The vessel is reported to be undamaged, and in a safe position. ihe weather is still very rpugh.
