NOTES AND MEMORANDA.
Mr J. C. Hobson has consented to be nominated for the extraordinary vacancy in the Woolston Borough Council. A special parade of the Canterbury Scouts' reserve corps will be held in the orderly-room on the 14th inst., to elect a lieutenant. The annual church parade of the members of the Loyal "Orange Institution will take place on Sunday next at the Durham street Methodist "Church. A meeting to protest against tho sale of the freehold of the Twigger Estate by th© Charitable Aid Board will be held to-night at eight o'clock in the Alexandra Hall. The sneakers will bo Messrs Witty, M.P., T. E. Tavlor, M.P., H. G. Ell, M.P., Geo. Laurenson, M.P., G. W. Russell, M.P., and A. D. Hart, president of the Trades and Labour Council. The Wainoni Entertainers will appear at Sheffield this evening, at Glentunnel on Thursday, and at Kirwee on Friday.
