AMUSEMENTS.
DICKENS ENTERTAINMENTS. Last night at the Choral Hall Mr Davenport repeated his clever and mteresting Dickens entertainment, and was enthusiastically received. Some judicious curtailments wero made with regard' t© some of tho items, and this was a decided improvement. - Mr Davenport's interpretation of the charming playlet "Little Em'ly" was loudly applauded, and h© was also exceedingly successful in th© humorous portions of tho entertainment. For to-night's programme Mr Davenport has made a most interesting selection of items from "Pickwick Papers." "Old Curiosity Shop," ond "Oliver Twist." Th© feature of the entertainment will bo the pathetic story of "The Death of Little Nell." Tho lighter pieces include amongst others Mr Alfred Jingle's marvellous stories, the duel between Mr Winkle and Dr. Hammer, and th© courtship of Mr Bumble.
