CANTERBURY KENNEL CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING

The annual meeting of. the .Canterhiiry Kennel Cflub was held last evening. Mr W. C. Leirersedge presided, aad , there was a good attendance of members. The annual report stated, the meniiDrship of the club stood at 114, which included several lady members. The ■annual show; held in k Christchurch -in August last, was a great success, both financially and otherwise. The entries numbered 336, and 198 dogs were ex"lhbited', an increase of 34 over the previous show. Mr H. S. Kyle, the club's honorary voterinary surgeon, who acted m judge, gave every satisfaction. Aiianks were returned to those gentie--jken who gavo prizes and donations to tae club's funds. Tho showed that tho receipts were £162 J 2s 6d, and the expenditure £150 3s 9d, Wring a credit balance (including hjlaneo brought • forward) of £15 Is. lhe expenditure included old accounts paid amounting to £21 6s, brought fqrvnrd from the previous year, so that this amount, added to the above balance, showed a nominal profit of £36 7s, which was highly satisfactory.. The debentures account had not been v reduced "during the year, and it would be advisable to transfer a portion* of , the above credit balance to the debentures account, and thus reduce the indjbtcdncss under this heading. The Teport and balance-sheet were adopted. Tho secretary'was instructed to transfer £10 to the debenture account.
