McLEAN INSTITUTE BOARD.
The McLean Institute Board met yesterday, when there were present, the Mayor {Mr C. Allison) in the chair, Bisnop Julius, Bishop Grimes, Rev. C. H. Gjrjand, Roy. J. Mackenzie, and Messrs Geo. Paylins;, H. Cotterill, B. M. Molineaux. G. W. Russell, H. W. Bishop, W. Dtinlop. and Mrs Wilson.
The Finance and Institutions Committee reported that it had been resolved to ask tho architects to provide an alternative plan for six additional bedrooms at Quamby. making twentyseven in all. It had also been resolved to appoint a sub-committee to peruse the private Bill drafted by the solicitor to the Board, and on their being satisfied that the same contained only the provisions already provided by the -will with the exception of the transfer of the powers of the trustees to the Board, that the Board be recommended to introduce the Bill to Parliament during the coming session. It was also resolved to pay each inmate on application bem<£ made 3 monthly allowance at the rate of 10s weekly.
The report was considered in committee and approved of. and it was also decided, pending the completion of Quamby, to make the proposed inmates a weekly allowance.
The Board then adjourned
