GERALDINE CLUB.
An adjourned meeting of Geraldine resiUeius interested m bowling was bei_ iv tlie Borough Council office, Ocraldine, on 'ihursuay night. Ihere was a good attendance, and .Mr I', R. * batman presided. The sub-comnxittce appointed to go into the matter of securing a private section reported that alter looking at several sites they concluded there was nothing in tho town to equal the site in tho Domain which was first thought of. It was unanimousJy resolved to chooso the Domain site for the bowling green. It was also decided that a sub-committee wait on the Domain Board at its next meeting to make the best possible arrangements tor a permanent tenure, if one was obtainable. It was resolved that a Bowling Club bo formed, to be called "The Geraldine Bowling Club." The following officers were elected:—President, Mr F. R. Flatman; vice-presi-dent. Mr W. A. Sherratt; secretary and treasurer, Mr "VV. Thomas; committee, Messrs Broadhead, Kennedy, Chisholm, and T. Sherratt. The subscription was fixed at £2 2s first year and 30s thereafter. A finance oommittee was appointed to go into the question of raising the necessary funds over and above the subscription for laying down the bowling green. Two estimates were received for laying down the green, and that of Mr W. H. Collins ivas accepted on condition that specifications are satisfactory to the committee.
The bowling fixtures this afternoon will include a match on the Opawa Green between the newly-formed Linwood Bowling Club and the Opawa Club, and ono on tho United Green between the Sydenham and United clubs.
