FOOTBALL.
RICHMOND CLUB. The annual meeting 01 the Richmond Football Club was held in tho Druids' HaU la.it evening. Tho vice-president if the club (Mr J. R. Parker) occupied the chair, and there was a largo attendance of members. Tin? annual report referred in' congratulatory torms to tho successes achieved by tho club last season, tho performances of the teams entered in the various competitions being decidedly creditable. The receipts for tho year amounted to £30 16s 7d. and the expenditure to £_G Os 6d, leaving a credit balancf* of £\ lfa Id. The' report recommended that tho'olub sports be held annually, also that a donation be made to the funds of tho Domain Board. It was also suggested that a deputation should wait on the Domain Board with a request that the inner row of trees oa removed. The report and balancesheet were adopted. Twelve new members were . elected, and 'five resignations were acceptexl. The following officers were elected:— Patron, Mr G.Jones; president, Mr J. R Parker- vice-presidents, Messrs J. Macgregor, W. Lawrence, E. C. Brown, 0. W. Russell, M.P., A. Young, T. lA. Harris, S. Pentecost, W. Appleyard, Dr. Thacker, J. Hu_hes and J. A. Blank ;t secretary, Mr A. Patterson; treasurer, Mr C. E. Prebble; club captain, Mr W. G. Prebble; deputy captain. Mr A. Cross; delegate to Rugby Union, Mr J. R. Parker. In returning thanks for his appoint"nent to the Rugby Union, Mr Parker Mid that this was the opportunity- he had h«n waiting for. The Rm-bv Union wanted to bo stirred ud. and -"-ken he got there there would be a ■"hi-ring. up. Seeing that, the Union wived its revenue from the clubs, it w»!d return some to the clubs. The vinon was accumulating an enormous .atamint of money, which was lying idle. JM the members would not purchase I-Waster Park or any other ground. ,*£«** should attend the meetings of the ♦ho and see how things wore managed, wtltnhoy did nothing except scoop in to<» > money. The clubs had to pay ."■•"ling-room and other expenses, and thw was a matter in which the Union Butmt assist. He thought that the . ?°J should receive a certain percentatre *fjn« receipts from the Union. He Predicted that at the annual meeting of the Union there would be a strong potest- for the position of secretary.
