HOCKEY. —: ♦ The annual general mpeting of the Huia Ladies' Hockey Club was held in the Y.W.C.A. rooms on Wednesday ■evening- There- "was an attendance of eighteen members. The following officers were elected:—President, Sirs George Payling; vice-presidente, Rev. R. S. Gray and Mr R. C. Bishop; club captain, Miss I. Norrie; secretary, Miss V. Holmes; committee, Misses A. iSean, M. Buchanan, L. Aitohison, C. Norrio and M. Ritchie. It was aecided to enter a team in both the senior and the junior competitions, and to open the season to-morrow. Fifteen now members -were elected. A match played yesterday between teams representing Victoria and Avon girls ended in a draw, the teams scoring two coals each. Mr Frank 31cCullough was referee. LODGE MEETINGS. ♦ The Bastion Memorial Juvenile Temple, 1.0.G..T.. gave a concert in the Manchester Chambers on the 16th inst., Sister Gunncll in the- chair. The following items were contributed:--Pianoforte solos. Sisters M. Nixon and Piper; songs. Sisters Chapman, Nixon. A. Bell. E. Bascand , , N. Howard, a"d Bro. Wiltshire, and Sister Nixon, senr., and Bro. Hevord; recitations, Sisters Nixon, R. "Round, A. Wiltshire. M. Sweeney, and Bro. Bascand. Three action songs, "The Dunces," "Visitors," and "By the Zuydor Zee," were given by the Sieters Nixon (5). After short speeches from Sister Gunnell anu Bro. Whitchere, the meeting vas closed by the singing of the Doxology.
