ALFORD FOREST R.C. ANNUAL MEETING.
The annnai meeting of the Alford Forest Racing Club was held on the Mount Somcra racecourse yesterday, when there was a large attendance, and the takings at the gate were a record. Eleven bookmakers at £3 3s each were present. Results: — LADIES' PURSE HANDICAP, of 8 soys; fivo furlongs—Manchester, 9st 101b, 1; Royal Crown, list, 2; Monarch, lOst, 3. Wardland list, Beck-well list, Padus Dst 71b. Liberator 9st 71b. nnd Early Dawn 9st also started. Won by half a length. Time, lmin S 4-Sth sec. ALFORD FOREST CUP HANDICAP, of 12 soys; one mile—Roscommon, list 71b. 1; The Guesser, Ost 41b, 2. Won by a length. Time, lmin s_sec. HACK RACE HANDICAP, of 5J soys; four furlongs—Merry Weather, Ost. 1; Stella 10st, 2; Even Wave. 9st 41b, 3. Four others started. Wou by a, length. Time, 51 3-sth sec. STAVELEY BRACELET HANDICAP, of 8 soys; six lurlongs—Miss Dorrie. lOst. 1; Parole. lOst. 2; Padus, 9st 71b, 3. Two others started. Miss Dorrie led all the way. and won by a length. Time, lmin 20see. MOUNT SOMEKS TROT HANDICAP, of 12 soys; two miles—Ruby S., Osec, 1; Princess Joy, 20sec, 2; Master Dudley, 9sec, 3. Eight others started. Won by a length and a half. Time, omin 33scc.
