Tho Council of the Employers' Federation has decidtxl to establish in anti-Socialist school for the purpose of discussing proposals put forward by the Labour Party and Socialists. FATAL SHOOTING AFFRAY. BRISBANE, March 17. A tragedy occurred near Port Douglas. A farm hand named Douelly quarrelled with, and shot the cook,. Macdonald, and himself. Donelly is dead, and Macdonald is in a serious condition. THE BONDI SUICIDE. (Received March 17th, 11.45 p.m.) SYDNEY, March 17. At the inquest on Frank Loing, of New Zealand, a verdict of suicide was returned. A pocket-book found in tho clothing of deceased contained an entry stating that he intended to do away with himself. A witness deposed that Laing, on the morning of his death, said he was placed in a very awkward position, owing to money he expected from New Zealand not having arrived. WIRELESS TELEGRAPHY. MELBOURNE, March 17. The Postmaster-General states that ho is unable to give any consideration whatever to wireless telegraphic schemes for another year. POPULATION OF THE COMMONWEALTH. The population of the Commonwealth at the end of last year was 4,275,304, an increase for tho year of 75.207. THE AUSTRALIAN ELEVEN. (Received March 17th, 11.45 p.m.) SYDNEY, March 17. A big crowd fa re welled the local contingent of the Australian Eleven on their departure for England.
