STOLEN GOODS.

AUCKLAND, March 17.— A smart arrest was effected by Detectives Hoilis and Soott at Fxeemans Bay sdiortly before midnight, resulting in the reoovexy of a large quantity of stolen jewellery and the discovery of a larpre collection of housebrealiing implements. The subject of the arrest was a young man named Frank Maher., The detectives found upon his person a quantity of jewellery alleged to connect him with several large burglaries an tlie city. The search of the man's dwelling resulted in finding a large quantity of housebreaking tools, including skeleton keys, files, Eatteries, wires, revolvers, and further jewellery valued at £60, the latter being reco>yerK ed from the chimney. .
