A very unusual trip ia being'made by the New Zealand Shipping Company's large cargo steamer Opawa, wnicn, after talcing a supp.y of bunker coa.s, left Cardiff (Wales) last '.inursduy for Wellington. Tho vessel is coming out to .New Zealand, in ballast, and i» expected to reach Wellington on April 21th. Xhe New Zealand Snipping Company's steamer Paparoa, which arrived at Wellington early on Monday morning from London, via way ports, is due at. Lytteltou on Friday moruiiig. The vessel is landing 3100 tons of cargo al Wellington, and has 1400 tons for Lyttelton, where she will complete discnarging. 'ihe Paparoa will load ;at Lyttelton, 'Timaru, and Wellington, and will leave Wellington finally on April Sth for Loudon, via Monte Vitieo, liio de Janeiro, Teiierifie, and Plymouth. -. , , . 'ihe White Star cargo steamer Delphic arrived at Wellington on Sunday night from Glasgow and Liverpool, via way porta. The local agents of the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company expect the vessel to arrive at Lyttelton tomorrowThe Wnite Star liner Athenic is loading a large quantity of frozen meat, wool, and general cargo at Lyttelton, and is to leave tomorrow afternoon for Wellington, where sho will complete loading. The big steamer will have a full cargo when she leaves Wellington on Thursday, 25th inst., for London, via Monte \meo, Kio de Janeiro, Tenerirlc, and Plymouth. The Federal-Houlder-Shire Line steamer Drayton Grange, from West of England ports, via way ports, is due at Lyttelton about Saturday, and will leave next week for Dunedin to complete discharging. The Union Company's steamer Waihora is loading coal at Newcastle ior Wellington, Lyttelton, and Timaru. The Union liner Marama is due at Wellington early this morning from Sydney, and will arrive at Lyttelton on Friday morning, leaving again in the afternoon for Dunedin. The Marama will not proceed through to Melbourne this trip, but will exchange running with the Manuka, which is duo here on Saturday from Sydney, via Auckland and East Coast norts, and which will leave here the same clay for Dunedin, BluE, Hobart, and Melbourne. The Marama, leaving Dunedin next Tuesday and Lyttelton on Wednesday, will proceed to Sydney via East Coast porta and Auckland. , Captain Bell, who has resigned fiom the Union Company's service, has been appointed master of the Auckland Harbour Board s new tug Te Awhina. Captain E. Harris, late of the Kotuku, has taken charge of the Whangape, relieving Captain Drewette, wno is now in command of the Rotoitl.
