LODGE MEETINGS.
• - The fortnightly meeting of tho Pride of Christchurch Tent, 1.0. R., was held in the Y.W.C.A. room on March Bth, tho-C.R., Bro. Saunders, presiding. Sick pay was passed td five brothers, and three declared off the fund. The new rituals have come to hand, and they were referred to the Management Committee to report at next meeting. It was decided to tako the Prohibition League's rooms for two years. "The delegates' report from the district meeting was given by P.C.R. Bro. Bunt, who dealt with, the business of the district. Votes of thanks were accorded the delegates, Bros. Taylor, Bunt and Robson. Two new members wero initiated and two proposed. «, The Hornby Loyal Orange Lodge, No. 24, hold their monthly meeting in the Orange Hall on March Bth. .Bro. T. Lee, W.M., assisted by Bro. E. Arnott, D.M., presided over a large attendance, including brethren from No. 27 L.0.L., Waimate. Two new candidates were proposed, and one brother applied for his R.A.P. degree, which was granted, and will be conferred next lodge night. Bro. F. Wilson, P.M., moved: —""That this lodge go into mourning for six months in respect to our late brother W. Davies, and that our deepest regret be recorded in the minutes for the loss of so valued a brother to this lodge, and the Order in general." The motion was earned in silence, all standing- The W.M. thanked the brethren for their attendance at the funeral, and at the memorial service held in the Oranae Hall on Sunday, 7th inst., when Bro. Jones conducted the before a largo congregation. On the lodge closing the brethren wished the newly-installed officers a prosperous year in office.
