ROAD BOARDS.
MANDEVILLE AND RANGIORA. The last meeting of the Mandeville and Rangiora Road Board was attended by Messrs F. Horrell (chairman), C. Leech, G. Dalziel and J. Stevenson. The Hon. D. Buddo, Minister of Internal Affairs, wrote that in regaro. to the application to shorten the name of the district by dropping that of Mandeville, he thought section 3 of the Designation of Districts Act would not apply, T>ut ho believed any omission liad not been intended to exclude Road Boards. It was decided to let the matter stand over till tho Act was amend*ed The Treasury intimated that £294 3s 4d had been paid over.as subsidy on rates. It was elecided to place 200 yds of gravel on McKenzie's road, and that the road be formed and gravelled giving access to Flaxton station. It was decided to raise and repair the culvert on the road at Kaiapohia monument, and place a concrete top on the culvert across Southbrook road at Brain's road. A public meeting of ratepayers to agree to the sale and closure of two chains' width of tho road at Woodend was fixed for March 30th. The receipts were £1330 4s 6d, the bank credit wp.s £397 19s lOd, and the amount of £181 13s 3d was passed for payment.
