OPENING OF NEW HALL AT - \ SYDENHAM. £ The new hall erected by the Star of>; Sydenham Lodge, No. 55, in Gordettj., street, was dedicated last evening mr/» the presence of a very large numb*' j> of members of the lodgo and their >. friends. Among those who participated . in tho ceremony were Uro. W. Grand Sire of the Order of Australa«»» , and JJros. T. Crawley, District x Grand Sire, D. M. Millar, 1.F.G., '- M.U., 1.0.0. F., and many other Lodge officers. The impressive dedication ceremony of the Oddfellows was gone through. After the Grand Officers had been welcomed, the Grand Sire delivered an address on tho progress of Oddfellowsbip, and tho altar was duly built by the Heralds, followed by the presentation and return of the keys. Tho vanoue prayers were offered up by the ACtmKGr.i'nd Chaplain, the- Rev. L. Hudson. The odes pertaining to the ceremony wore sung by the Sydenham BaptJSS choir, under the conductorship of Mr "Jenkins, and Misses Ibbotson, Choprai. Williams, and Lucy Cowan, and Messrs H. Hean, Lcverett, C. Charters, end Pipers contributed items to the musical programme which followed the dedtca"tYio new building, which was designed and built by Mr W. J. Taylor, » « handsome brick structure, the mam wu being 10 feet by 25 feet, and the anterooms measuring 14ft by 10ft each. An accommodative gallery and suppor-rooni are provided, and the building w excellently lighted by numerous sbjUSn- l--and incandescent burners.
