CHEVIOT. _ M the last meeting of the Cheviot County Council there were present Messrs Stevenson (chairman), Rutherford, Hodgson, Gee, Meikle and Macfarlane. Mr D-avison wrote in regard to the suggestion of the North Canterbury Hospital Board regarding the appointment of medical officers and tho establishment of hospital accommodation in tho centro. of the district. It was resolved to offer the suggestion of the establishment of a cottage hospital near tho centre of the North Canterbury district. Mr J. Rentoul, clerk to tho McKenzio Town Board, applied for a £3 subsidy towards the cost of lighting.
