COUNTY COUNCILS.
At the last- meeting of tho Akaroa County Counoil, Mr Tnacker drew attention to -tlie bad state of the Summit road between Okain's and Little Akaloa. and moved that tenders be called for metalling the balance of the Summit road. Mr Barclay seconded the motion, lnhich -was carried. Mr Murray, the Council's representative on the Charitable Aid and Hospital Boards, reported the new sanatorium for consumptives had cost £13,500, and when it was in working order would cost a further amount, and theire would be a considerable increase in t'he Council's contribution.
