THE HON. D. BUDDO.

' The Hon. D. Buddo, Minister for Internal Affairs and Public Health, arrived in Christchurcli yesterday. Ho attended a meeting of tho Board of .TCducaiion, and transacted some business connected -rvith his Department. To-day Mr Buddo attends tli« opening of the Collogo for Maori Girls at Ohoka, and to-morrow 'he goes to Cheviot to attend tho show, returning to Wellington on Saturday.

A of ladies representing tho Oiristcluireh branch of tho Society for tho Promotion of tho Health of Women and Children waited on tho Minister yesterday afternoon, and preferred several requests. The deputation consisted of Mcsdames Sandstein and Pratt and MLss Cook.

Tho deputation requested the Minister to authorise the Registrar of Hirths to issue to parents registering births copies of pamphlets drawn up by Dr. Trilby King, entitled "What is Best for Baby." It was desirable that each mother s'honld receive- one* of the pamphlets, on which would bo printed tho names and. addresses of the Phiukct nurses, and the nanio and address of the secretary of tho Socioty.
