United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received March 3rd, 11.30 p.m.)
LONDON, March 3. A Nationalist motion condemning +ho Government for using a /statute oT"Edward 111. for the conviction , of Mr. Farrell, M.P., was defeated by 142 votes to 18. Labour members sharply attacked Mr. Burns's administration of the Unemployment Act, alleging that it was ungenerous. Mr. Pickersgill said he did not think women workers in London had been fairly dealt with compared with men. Mr. Burns justified his action in not sanctioning tho establishment of a farm colony for women. It would be useless to transfer charwomen at a cost of £200 a-piece to teach them market gardening. He had made grants and sanctioned loans wherever he was satisfied that these were necessary.
