THE ASSOCIATION GAME.
(press association telegram.) WELLINGTON, March 2. Tbe New Zealand Football Association recently wrote to the Australasian Association, asking if they would cooperate in the proposed tour of Australasia of a team of South African Association players in 1910. Sympathetic but not definite replies have been received from South Australia and West Australia. At a meeting of the Council to-night a letter was received from Mr A. E. Gibbs. who is now resident in London, stating that ho had seen Mr .las. Campbell, who was fully convinced that the time was not yet ripe for bringing a team over from New Zealand at present. It was elecieled to resign from membership with the New Zealand Sports* Federation, members hein;_. of opinion that for all tho good they received they might just as well save the £2 2s annual subscription.
