CANTERBURY RUGBY UNION.
The meeting of tho Management Committee of the Canterbury Rugby Union last evening was attended by Messrs G. H. Mason (Chairman), P. Menzies, W. Walton, J. R. Evans, F. L. Murray, S. F. Wilson, G. Scott, G. S. Matthews, and W. G. Garrard (hon. secretary) Mr J. Middleton was appointed auditor. Tne Christchurch Football Club wero granted permission to play their annual match against tho Wellington Club at Lancaster Park on .Easter Saturday. Friday, March 20th, was fixed as tne date of the annual meeting of the Canterbury Rugby Union, and the following wero appointed a sub-committee to draw up the annual report and bal-ance-sheet: —The Chairman (Mr G. H. Mason), the hon. secretary (Mr W. G. Garrard), Mr W. Walton, and Mr S. F Evan?. The secretary was instructed to write t. tho Board of Control of Lancaster Park, pointing out that no reply had been received from the Board in regard to a of the lease of the Park, and 'asking if the Board would grant a renewal. Tho Merivnle Football Club was granted permission to play Alhamhra (Dunedin) at Christchurch at Easter time. The R G. Deans Memorial Committee wrote thanking the Union for the ! generous support it had given to the I movement.
