The Northern shipowners, at a meeting at Newcastle, adopted the principle of the scheme of an international agreement to regulate the supply of tonnage to the demand. The scheme will be submitted to tho approaching Baltic Conference at Copenhagen.
Messages in support of the scheme have been received from all parts of the United Kingdom and abroad, representing a capital of £50,000,000. The scheme is welcomed with enthusiasm in Japan.
