After a period of fine weather, Frida— being the warme_t day experienced this 'season, a change occurred on Sunday in the afternoon, the wind changing to southerly, and rain commenced about- 8 p.m.. and continued without intermission for twelve hours. The rain V**as not heavy, tho atmosphere was c-iTni.'. and the_ temperature was mild, being stimulative of vegetable growth, but rather retarding: progress to maturity. Harvest work will be in progress in several parts of the -district in a few d*»yi» if warm, dry weather is vouchsafed*. "
