The Kamona is to leave Greymouth to-mor- : row night with o cargo of coal and timber for Lyttelton, and is due here on Thursday. It is expected that the. Blackball Coal Company's new collier Ngahore, from Glasgow, will report at tho Blufi to-morrow, and it is probable that she will be ordered on to I Lyttelton. Naylor has taken charge of tho Rotoiti I Captain Ramsay, harbourmaster at Oanwru, left for Sydney by the Waikare last week., i Captain Stainton Clarke, master of the four-masted barque Loch Carron, which arrived at Port Adelaide from London about a fortnight ago, has (says the "Sydney Telegraph") held command of his ship for almost a quarter of a century. He ha 3 been at sea for over thirty-seven years : having served bis time on the Liverpool ship Sulina, engaged in the Calcutta trade. Five years were spent on the Sulina four as apprentice, and one as seoond officer. Then an introduction to Messrb Thomas Skinner and Co., of London, procured him a berth in tho Euntlcy Castle, one of tho old-time China tea clippers. Captain Clarke made two voyages- on the Huntley Criftle as second officer, and then he was transferred to tho Edinburgh Castle, and afterwards to the Lonnos Castle. At tho ago ol twenty-eight he obtained his master's certificate, his first ship being the Douglo** Castlo. The Paloona is to be docked before resuming her running in the Sydney-Hobart trade. Captain J. V. Bontley will leave, tho Paloona at Sydney, and await instructions. . Mr Keynes, seoond officer of the Waikare, went ashore for order* nt Dunedin, his place being taken by Mr Nicholls. The Shaw-Savill steamer Ksramea, with a largo number of passengers, is due at Dunedin about the end of Ibis week from London. I This week the Flora will replace tho Haupiri in the coastal trade between Napier and Auckland. Tbe Flora Jb a much larger vessel than the Haupiri, which will be laid .up either at Wellington or Auoklond. Loading by tho Fene.ral-Houlder-Shire steamer Rippingham Grange will be commenced at Port Chalmers shortly. She will afterwards call at Bluff. Timaru, Lyttelton, ' and Wellington. The vessel will leave Wellington finally about November 25th, for , West of England ports. : On Saturday next (ho Federal-Houldcr-Shire liner Oswestry.
