a— Mr W. R. Smith addressed th© electors of Avon in ' the schoolroom at Bromley on Thursday evening. Mr Burtonj chairman of the School Committee, presided. Mr Smith was accorded a very hearty veto cf thank-. It is rumoured that Mr G. D. Greenwood, of Teviotdalo, Amberley, is likely to be a candidate for the Hurunui seat at the general election.
