A pnblic meeting, convened by the St. Albans District Cricket Club, will be held on Thursday, September 24th, at the Young Men's Guild Hall, adjoining St. Albans Park, for the pur- 1 pose of discussing th© questions ot improving the Park and making it suitable for cricket.

Mr C. E. Salter. President of the Association, will address a men's meeting in the V.M.C.A. rooms to-morrow, at 4.15 p.m., on "Gambling." Mr H. M. Stewart will lecture on "Failures and Fallacies of Prohibition" at Motukarara to-night. . Valentine's Pictures and Entertain ers will appear at East Oxford to-night, at Sheffield on Tuesday night, Hororata on Wednesday, and Hornby on Thursday

Mr J. B. Merrett will deliver lectures at Rangiora on Wednesday fiext and at Oxford on Thursday on "The New Poultry Husbandry."
