Canterbury brands _Jrd, North Island 3Jd. Tbe hsnh market is very firm. Canterbury lamb is quoted at s|d, other than Canterbury at s_d. The beef market is quiet. Supplies from River Pilate are increasing. Hindquarters are quoted at 4£d, forequarters 2J-d. The butter market is quiet, but firm. There are moderate sn-pplit.. comiiiig forward. Choioosfc New Zealanel butter, which is in small supply, i 3 quoted at Ills, Danish 117s, 8-herian 108_. per cvt. The cheese market is steady, and there is a good demand. White make*. 64-., coloured 595.. The hemp market is dull. Tbe following are current quotations :—Good to fair grade on spot £27, fair grade on snot £24 ss, fair current Manila £23 los. For JulyAngusr, shipments:—Good to fair grade £'2', 15s, fair grade £24 os, fair current Manila 23s lOd. ihe cootefoot seed market is quiet. Pending the rec-eaipb of reports from America, buyers are not keen to do business. Bright clean l.lib seed is quoted at 85s per envt. (nominal). WELLINGTON STOCK EXOmVNGE. (SPECIAI. TO "the pbess.")
