HORORATA RACING CLTJB.
The -annual meeting of tho Hororata Racing Club was held on May Mr Jas. Wilson presiding. Tho re-cort submitted showed the club to be in a sonnd position both financially and as regards the membership roll, which had never been higher. The club bad. however, to deplore the loss by death of its late president. Sir John Hall, and of Messrs A. Hardie and S. Price. The balance-sheet, showing receipts £383 8s 2d and expenditure £370 12s 5cL leaving a balance in band of __13 15s 9d. was passed. Seven new members were elected, tho number on the roll being now 105. Tho following officials were elected:—President. Mr Wilfred Hall; vice-presidents. Mcssx6 E. C. Ashbv, R. N. Bealey, A. Comyns, C. A. C. Hardy. M.P., J. A. Holme-s and H. A. Knight: stewards. Mei-srs L. Derr«tt. J. Gemmell, P. Kyne, J. Lorgelly, J. S. McHugh. H. Oliver. M. Ward, W. Watson- ard J_s. Wilson; hon. treasurer. Mr Wm. Watson ; hon. clerk of scales, Mr W. J. Percy. Very hearty vcrfes of thanks were passed to Mr H. A. Knight for his generous gift of a cup for the winner of the principal race at ti» l*rt meeting, and to Messrs J. A. Holmes and H. A. Kniiht for their services on race dt>y ,_!«> to Mr R. O. Duncan, hon. judge, the chairman, and the outgoing committee.
