These had taken refuge in the interior. Armed inhabitants are occupying the heights around Vatti. (Reoei-ved June Ist. 10.6 p.m.) ATHENS, June 1. The Turkish cruiser Hamedieh, meeting with a hostile recention at Vatti, fired two rounds of blank, which stopped the firing from tho island. Tranquility now prevails. A semi-official report in Athens states that tho Turkish soldiers repeatedly fired at the Consulates, and those defending the Governor's palace fired at passers-by indiscriminately.
