THE CHRYSANTHEMUM SHOW.
Tbo Chrysanthemum Show was -well attended yesterday both in the afternoon and evening. Experts assort that it was one of the b«st shows of the kind evor held in New Zealand, and the display made was greatly admired by the visitors, In connection with the premier blooms an error occurred in vpsierday's issue. They were credited to Lieutenant-Olon-el Kent on Rhodes, whereas they were exhibited by Air A. E G. Rhodes. Tht Vikings at the show were a record UrJ the Horticultural Society. A<imisskm fees on Wednesday aiuounteci to £10 and £57 was taken at the doors ycsteidiy, while tickets which hare to bo accounted for are expected to brin" the totai receipts to more than £100. Among the novelties on view at the show were soir.o very fine Japanoto persimmons, exhibited by Mr La gardener to Mr A. Boyle, and grown in the latter gentleman's garden at Hit-car-ton. It was tile first time the fruit had been exhibited here and it attracted a good deal of attention, as many people were under the impression', that the climate of Chris ten ureli was too cold for persimmons.
