WATER SUPPLY BOARD.
The last mooring of the WatmakaririAshley Water Supply Board was attended by Messrs Bixcn (chairman), b'iiaw and Moderate. Tho Surveyor's report mentioned that during tho previous 35 days tho daily average depth of water on sill of intake at 'Brown's Kock head works-had been 4ft 73in. and during tho 34 days tho water was running the daily average depth passing the flumo at Block Cutting was 2lt lin. and the leakage in the whole of the headrace equalled only 11 inches. A couple of small i'reshes had occurred, the highest being 6ft s>in, and the river remained favourable. Offers wc.ro received for the supply of a secondhand carrier's van for teamster's travelling whare, but they were not suitable, and a local tender for tho construction of one was accepted. Accounts for £173 were passed.
