The late Mr John Ollivkr, a mom her of Mr Moorhou-e's executive, more than once stated , in public that before tho Lyttelton railway or tho tunnel was decided upon, the question Railway v. Canal was discnsseJ ai length hy the executive, and the decision in favour of the railway was only arrived at by a majority of one *;{ tho executive. — Yours, etc..
