A meeting of the ftevr Zoaland Trotting Association was held yesterday afternoon. • Present—Messrs P. Seiig (preeddent), "W. G. fiarrard. C. P. Mark, E. Olarkaon, W. Hayward, C." S. Howell, and A. L. I. llattray, on the death of his wife, with the widow and family of the late Mr Joseph Potxie, of Greymouth, with Mr R. C. Hun gerf a?& (eocretary of tbe New South Wales Trotting , CPub), on the death of his father, Mr T. W. Hungtsrford, an 4 with th* widow c.ad family of tho late Mr Geo. G. Stead.

Tho election to fill the vacanoy caused by the death of Mr T. y.axr, resulted in the return of Mr R. O. Duncan.

An appeal was received from Mr J. O'Brien, against the decision of the steward* of the Tahuna Park Trotting Club, in disqualifying, his horse Aid Patrick in the Ladies' Bracelet Handicap. On the ground that no performances had been given, with the •entry. " The facts were that Ard Patrick had run third in a race at Richmond, Melbourne, and it wae staled that hie time was 2min 38soc, but the appo'lant contended that that time was not ofucial. According to the rules it was only necessary for the times of tho first and second horrea to be taken, and therefore he bod pot given this as a performance when making hie entry. Moreover, the Tahuna Park Club had given him no opportunity of making an explanation.

In connection with th« case of W. Orange, arising out of a protest lodged at the Otahuhn Trotting Club's r«t«nt meeting, it was" decided to take no farther action. Tho next "meeting of tho Beard waa fixed for June 10th.
