(Received May 6th, 12.48 a.m.)
CALCUTTA, May 5
It is stated in Government circles that the Afghan invaders are undisciplined bands, and that there is no reason to suppose that they are acting with the Ameer's concurrence. The Zakka Khels express themselves S9 reassured that Great Britain does not intend to annex a portion of their territory, hence they will loyally abide by their agreement with Great Britain. General Willcocke yesterday attacked a remnant of the Afghans in the hills westward of Landikotal. The enemy were in poor strength and offered only slight resistance. The leading Mullah fled/ on horseback at an early stage, and the whole of the enemy were driven over the frontier.
