THEATRE ROYAL.
Pollard's- Juvenile Opera Company staged ''His Hishnces tho Bey" at tho new Theatre Koyal last night, before a very excellent house. The piece, which is familiar to Christchurch thoatre-goers, it having been performed on previous vjsite ot the company, went smartly and brightly throughout, tho choruses and the dancing being particularly good. Master Bert .Nicholson as the sham Boy, intused into the part. a largo stock of his quaint humour, %vhile Mr Harry Quealey, as the Caliph, luado tho most of that amusingly burlesque pert. Miss Minnie Topping, Miss ilay Topping, and Miss Ciseio O'Keefo presented their parts with ability, and tho other members of the company did much to make the production a success. Individual items which gained special recognition ■were Master Bert- Nicholson's comic E»n<j, "Therefi . a Pieco in ill© Paper To-day." and •"Lucy, , * duet and dance by Mies .Minnie Topping and Mr Charles Albert, Miss Cissio O'Keefes "Orange Blossom" song, ami the- "Ship Ahoy" trio b> , Mesne Cnorlos Albert and Harry QiucaJey and Master Nicholson. Tc~>n.igih!i a vjirJrd entertainment will bt> given, tho items comprising the most successful features of the different pieces in tho company's repertoire. Tomorrow afternoon thero will be a matineo performance of '"Bluebell in Fairyland," and in the evening tho variety entertainment will be , repeated.
