The' Management Committee of tho Auckland Rugby Union has resolved to instruct its delegates to the New Zealand Rugby Union to approach tne Wellington Union, with a view to having the annual match between Auckland and Wellington played here during the visit of the American Fleet to this port. It is considered probable that the sailors of the Fleet will give an exhibition of the American game as a curtain raiser.
Tlie second round of senior matches will be played at Lancaster Park tomorrow, when Merivale play Sydenham. Christchurch play College and Old Boys play Lin wood. A meetiug of the Peninsula SubUnion was held at the County Council Chambers, Duvauchelle, on Monday J evening. The president (Mr A. Gray) vas-in the chair, and delegates were present from the Okains. Akaroa, Little Akaloa. United Bays. Wairewa, Star, and Kohitangata i Clube. The audited balance-sheet of the past season was road and adopted, and Mr "W. D. "Wilkins was ajipoiuted auditor for the present season. The chairman stated that tho three- Little River teams had decided to play off amongst themselves. Messrs Hall, Goodwin, A. Winkins, and F. Leonardo wero appointed referees for Akaroa and the Bays, and Messrs Tideraan and Taylor for Little River. The secretary was instructed to communicate with insurance companies as to insuring teams from Saturday to •Saturday. The following fixtures wero arranged, matches to he played on the tiist-named grounds:—May 9th, Okains v. Akaroa, United v. Little Akaloa, Kohitangata v. Star: May 16th. Akaroa v. Unitedj Littlo Akaloa v. Okains, Wairewa v. Kohitangata; May 23rd, Akaroa v. Little Akaloa, United v. Okains, Star v. Wairewa; May 30th, Akaroa v. Okains, Littlo Akaloa v. United, Star v. Kohitangata ; June 6th, United v. Akaroa, Okains v. Little Akaloa, Kohitangata r. Wairewa; June 13th, Littlo Akaloa r. Akaroa, Okains v. United, Wairowa T. Star. I
