Tho "Hon. R. McNab, Minister ot Lands, will arrive in Christchuroh this morning, in response to an invitation from Mt R. Heaton Rhodes, M.P., to pay a visit to the Peninsula, which he will undertake in company with Mr Rhodes. At Little River the Minister will meet a deputation ot Kinloch settlers, who are applying for a rebate pf Tent on account of losses caused by the bad season. Rebates oi rent havo been granted to Crown tenants in Marlborough on account of damage done by bush and grass fires, and the Kinloch settlers, who suffered just as much through tho drought, feel that tho precedent created should apply in their case. Mr McNab will also meet a deputation at Little River In regard to the Recreation Reserve. The (present reserve is on the hillside, and the local residents desire to oxchange it for a piece of land on the flat, owned by the natives. The latter are quite willing to consent to the proposal, but they can do nothing until they get a sitting of tho Native Land Court. The object of the deputation is to get the Minister to secure a local sitting of the Court for the purpose. After receiving these deputations the Minister will lunch with Mr H. D. Buchanan, and in tho afternoon ne will proceed to Akaroa, where ho will stay for tho night. Ho will receive a deputation which will urgo tho Government to build a new Post Office.
